We’re often asked what our most popular, or best selling, grit salt bins are so we thought it was time to make a list for you. 

Grit bins are available in many different sizes, or capacity, with the most popular being 200 Litre (250kg / 7 Cu Ft) and 400 Litres (500kg / 14 Cu Ft). 

Other standard grit bin sizes are 60 Litre (65kg / 2 Cu Ft) 100/115 Litre (125kg / 3.5 Cu Ft), 169 Litre (175kg / 6 Cu Ft), 285Litre (325kg / 10 Cu FT), and 340/350 Litres (400kg / 12 Cu Ft). 

The traditional yellow grit bin is by far the most popular colour as it stands out visibly along streets and roads. Green isn’t far behind though, especially in Heritage and village settings. Many customers also like their grit bins to match corporate colours such as blue, red, orange, grey, and even purple etc. 

Recycled black plastic grit salt bins are increasingly popular as an environmental responsibility choice but also as they cost less, provide excellent value for money. Different coloured lids can be included if you’d like them to stand out more on streets etc. 

So, what are our most popular grit bins? 

200 Litre 250kg grit bin (holds up to 10 x 25kg bags of salt)

These provide the best value for money for the capacity / size. They’re also stackable for when not in use if that’s important to you. 
Hasp and staples can also be added so you can lock the contents via your own padlock. 
It can be purchased complete with bags of rock salt, a mini shovel and or 2 part snow spade. 

400 Litre 500kg heavy duty grit bin (holds up to 20 x 25kg bags of salt)

Councils, parks, larger schools and retail estates love this grit bin as its robust and squat to the ground compared to others of the same capacity which makes it easier to access the grit inside. 
It is lockable via built in hasp and staples and can be purchased complete with rock salt, a mini shovel and or 2 part snow spade. 
Interestingly the recycled black version of his grit bin is the best selling of all available colour options. 

169 Litre 175kg grit bin (holds up to 7 x 25kg bags of salt)

These are easier to accommodate on streets or against a building compared to a 200 Litre grit bin as they have a slimline profile. They’re particularly popular for schools and quieter council streets. 
A hasp and staple can be added for you to padlock contents. 

115 Litre 125kg grit bin (holds up to 5 x 25kg bags of salt)

These are great for smaller businesses, schools, and home use, and easy to accommodate due to taking up little space. 
A hasp and staple can be added for you to padlock the contents and it can be delivered complete with rock salt, a mini shovel and or 2 part snow spade.

These are designed to match the 400L heavy duty grit bin above at half the capacity. 
They’re loved by councils and retail parks for the same reason however also a popular choice for schools due to their squat and durable build. 
Again, they’re lockable via a built in hasp and staple and can be delivered complete with rock salt, mini shovel and or 2 part snow spade.
